The Coast Brand

Founder: Emily Overbay
Out of: Rowayton, CT
Made in: India

Growing up in San Francisco, where the vintage shops are quite special, Emily was forever in search of unique finds and specifically embroidered pieces. As an adult living in NYC, she was still on the hunt for special, colorful, embroidered treasures that felt one-of-a-kind, were well made, and something you could live in all summer, but also reminiscent of the casual Northern California vibe. Over the course of her time in New York, Emily worked for a handful of fashion brands learning the trade in a range of roles from sales and merchandising to development, design and production. Three children later and a move to the coastal town of Rowayton, CT, The Coast Brand was born out of a desire to find effortless warm weather staples that weren’t too precious and at an accessible price point. Inspired by time spent on the water, and also unique vintage finds, the pieces are casual in style, yet look elevated and chic and are always special. The 100% cotton gauze base fabric is slightly sheer, lightweight and breezy. It is perfectly, un-perfect and is meant to look easy, sun drenched and happy.
Sustainable
We partner with a workshop in India to make the pieces in carefully considered batches. The entire development and production process is tight and production orders are small to be conscious of our use of resources, which also creates a one-of-a-kind feeling in the making of limited batches.
